In partnership with InnovateUK, we’re demonstrating innovative V2X hardware and software solutions using new business models with real-world drivers in a real-world setting. V2X capabilities can enable electric vehicles to store and discharge electricity generated from renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, with output that fluctuates depending on weather and time of day. The project will test the combination of V2X with local DC networks supported by silicon carbide-based high-efficiency power inverters at district level.
We believe our Velox charging system is the first ultra-rapid electric vehicle charger that comes V2X enabled. Smart energy micro-grids give businesses the ability to buy power, store it in vehicles and then distribute it wherever it might need it – to light and heat offices, or run machinery, for example. We’re unlocking and expanding the energy flexibility potential of EV bi-directional charging technologies in the UK and accelerating the commercialisation of V2X technologies and services.
